Weekly Remainders (2)

Books I Bought

A gift from my friend, Danielle!

From NetGalley and Random House:

My reviews this week.
Endure by Carrie Jones
Illuminate by Aimee Agresti
Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
The Vicious Deep by Zoraida Córdova
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare (spoiler free, if you’ve read the series)

Reading this week:
Summer Breeze by Nancy Thayer
For Darkness Shows The Stars by Diana Peterfreund
The Girl In The Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross

The big release this week was City of Lost Souls.  I read it in about 24 hours and it was AMAZING.  I could fangirl over it all day, but I’ll spare you and just say that this series is one of my favorites of all time.

Sadly, we lost Maurice Sendak this week.  His books were a big part of my childhood and it was bittersweet to see people all over the world react to his passing.

Lots of mermaid books.  Lots of them.  Have you noticed how many will be out this summer?  I have read three, so far, and have one to go.  I’m kind of liking this trend!

This week I’m starting two giveaways, so make sure you stop by starting the15th.!

Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to the Southern Book Bloggers!  If you live in one of these states (TX, AR, LA, MS, GA, AL, WV, VA, NC, SC, FL, KY, TN ) you can join their ARC tours.  They have toured some great books and I think it’s a wonderful group of bloggers that are committed to making sure great books get read and reviewed.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  1. I need City of Lost Souls!

I’m still waiting to see if I get Meant to Be. I put in my request over a week ago. 🙁

    Enjoy your reads!

  2. Very sad news about Maurice Sendak indeed. It was beautiful seeing people post about how he had influenced their lives.

I’ve noticed the mermaid trend sneaking in too but I can’t say I’m too enthusiastic about it! I’ve only read one of them so far (Lies Beneath) and wasn’t impressed but hopefully something amazing comes along. 🙂

  3. Okay, so I guess I need to start reading Cassie Clare’s books then? 🙂 I’m going to read a few more reviews and then decide. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been hesitant, though I keep seeing rave reviews everywhere. Glad to hear that you love them!
