Waiting on Wednesday is a feature hosted by Breaking The Spine where I talk about books that I am eagerly anticipating!
This week, my WoW pick is…..

Published by Macmillan on November 10, 2015
Genres: Young Adult

For seventeen-year-old Tam, running off to marry her musician boyfriend is the ideal escape from her claustrophobic high-school life on the island, and the ultimate rebellion against her father and stepmother. But when Tam becomes a widow just weeks later, the shell-shocked teen is forced to find her way forward by going back to the life she thought she’d moved beyond—even as her struggle to deal with her grief is forcing her to reinvent herself and reach out to others in ways she never imagined.
The plot of this book just fascinates me. Marriage at a young age, in a modern context, isn’t something that a lot of YA books tackle, so I am excited to see what The Young Widows Club has to offer!
I am looking forward to this one as well. Hope we both have a chance to read and enjoy soon.
I’m really curious about this one also! Great pick!
My WoW/a> for the week!
Great pick! I came across the blurb for this book while on GoodReads just a few days ago–definitely gotta check it out when it hits bookstores!
Check out my WoW if you get the chance! 🙂
Oh I remember hearing about this one! It sounds so heartbreaking.
Hmmm, interesting! I’ve not seen this one before! Marriage at a young age is something I’m super familiar with, as arranged marriages and marriages between youths has been in my family for maaaaany generations. I don’t think this one is for me, but I hope you enjoy it, Kate! 🙂
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Woah I totally expected this to some adult romance, not YA. This book is just promising heartbreak :O I’m so adding it!!
Ooh this totally sounds different! Like Karina said, I didn’t know it was YA. There aren’t a lot of books featuring teen marriage, and well, being widowed at such a young age, so this should be exciting. I don’t think I’m ready for the heartbreak, though. xD
I had not heard about this one at all before, but it does sound very unique for sure! A widow at 17?
