For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom.

When villagers begin to lose their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.

But soon Fei is awoken in the night by a searing noise, and sound becomes her weapon.

I heard the author talk about this book when she was on tour for The Ruby Circle and I was immediately interested by the plot.  Isn’t it an interesting idea?  People who have read it are telling me it’s unlike anything else she’s ever written.  Well, I’m sold and I can’t wait!

  1. I’m really excited about Soundless! It’s not only because I enjoyed the Vampire Academy series, but also because I love that there’s a Chinese influence on the story. Hope it’s as good as it sounds!

  2. Yes exactly, as soon as I heard about this one it just sounded so cool and original, and I’ve been excited ever since! The gorgeous cover doesn’t hurt either…

  3. Also known as the book I hadn’t heard of until right before BEA. I was super excited to snag a copy of this book, but because of the later release date I haven’t gotten to it yet. But I’m looking forward to reading it too.
