My first career goal was to be Batgirl, but somehow that didn’t pan out. When I was six I thought being a nurse would be good, until I found out that blood would almost definitely be involved. In high school I decided to be practical and become a lawyer. Then in college, when it came time to think about law school, I realized that what I really wanted to do was write fiction. Since there are not a lot of job openings for novelists, I became an editor for a travel publication after graduating college. Although this sounds exotic, it really wasn’t. Most of the traveling involved driving up and down the NJ Turnpike. Now I am living my dream: writing fiction, all the time. I live in New Jersey, close to many highways and malls, with my husband and two children (no pets, we’re allergic).
