Remainders (12)

Well, hello!  It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do one of these posts.  I hope all of my US readers had a great Thanksgiving and that everyone is looking forward to the Holiday season.

On Tuesday, I had the great honor of interviewing Ally Condie (Matched, Crossed and Reached) for her stop at Blue Willow Bookshop in Houston.  We talked about character development, poetry and the mating habits of fish, among other things.  It was packed!  It was wonderful talking to Ally, who is so gracious.  If you haven’t read the Matched series, I highly recommend reading these wonderful books!

Here are a few photos from the event.  Thanks to Cari for the pictures!

I got a wonderful surprise in the mail this week – my secret Santa gift!  From the lovely Liz at Consumed By Books, I got these awesome goodies.  Thanks so much, Liz!!

I’ve started a few new features here at Ex Libris.  First, my Romance Feature gives quick reviews of some romance novels that I’ve read, both as advanced copies and purchased copies.  With the advent of the eBook, I see that the romance category had grown by leaps and bounds.  If you would like to read some romance and are feeling overwhelmed by your choices, click on the tab above for some suggestions!

My second feature is audiobooks!  I am training to run a half marathon this spring and I figured out that listening to audiobooks was a great way to distract myself from the fact that I am running.  So, why not review what I’ve listened to?  You can see my first post by going here.

Now, on to the fun part –books I’ve gotten this week!

From NetGalley:

Thank you, Penguin!

Thank you, Bloomsbury!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

  1. Something Like Normal & Paper Towns = LOVE. Both are wonderful reads! Please let me know what you end up thinking of The Friday Society. I’m very curious about that one.

  2. It’s so great seeing how much your blog has grown. PS I knew who your secret santa was! Liz and I chat fashion and books. She is really sweet!
