I don’t know if I had a classic book when I was little. I know the first one I liked was Pride and Prejudice, but that wasn’t until I was in college.
I don’t exactly remember the author, but when I was a kid, I had this set of fairy-tales – not exactly the Disney version but not fully the Grimm version either – you could say they were toned down. In that I loved The Little Mermaid the most (it was not the Disney one). I was a big fan of fairy-tales then.
Later on, when I got was 13 something, Harry Potter was my favorite.
My fave classic book is Matilda. I LOVED that book.
I loved Heidi!
I never liked classics. Like at all. It’s hard to admit even now that I’m starting to like them. I would say a children’s classic that I love now is… The Secret Garden. There is just something about that garden that enchants me.
I enjoyed reading the Wizard of Oz series. 🙂
It has to be either Matilda by Roald Dahl or Anne Of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery had them on audiobook and listened to them on repeat, drove my family crazy 🙂
I remember loving Anne of Green Gables, I think it took me like a day to read in 6th grade.
Does the book From the Mixed Up Files of Ms. Basil E. Frankweiler count as a classic? I adored that book as a kid, I even bought a copy for my shelves recently.
I was (and still am) a huge fan of anything Jules Verne and my favourite was Miguel Stroggoff! Another two huge loves of mine in term of classics were Anna Frank’s Diary and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte…
I was a huuuugeee Anne of Green Gables fan when I was a kid. I had all of the books, and most of L.M. Montgomery’s other books, too.
I will go with Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Thanks!
I loved David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, my all time fave. 🙂
I entered your Off To Oz Giveaway.

I loved rumpelstiltskin. I’m not sure why, but i read it a lot. Maybe it was the whole intrigue about whether the queen would guess his name or not?
