Mental Health Giveaway Hop

mental health hop

Welcome to the Mental Health Giveaway Hop hosted by I Am A Reader Not A Writer and Reading In Twilight.  Today I’m posting a giveaway that features books that center around mental health issues.

Approximately 50% of students age 14 and older who are living with a mental illness drop out of high school. This is the highest dropout rate of any disability group. – Source

Four million children and adolescents in this country suffer from a serious mental disorder that causes significant functional impairments at home, at school and with peers. Of children ages 9 to 17, 21 percent have a diagnosable mental or addictive disorder that causes at least minimal impairment. – Source

How can you get help?  The Teen Health and Wellness Hotline Resource Page provides resources for mental health help, as well as a long list of crisis intervention resources.  If you can’t access those resources, as I always told my students, keep talking about it until someone listens.  There are people who care.

One winner will get to choose a book from this list.  You must be 13+ to enter and it’s open internationally.

The Impossible Knife Of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson
This Is How I Find Her by Sara Polsky
Reality Boy by A.S. King
The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith
