Judging a Book by Its Cover (4)

This is a feature that was started by Sara at Forever 17 Books after she read  this babble article.  I decided to join in because I love getting the innocent and oh so insightful opinion of kids.  My 4 year old son and 3 year old daughter took a look at the cover of one of my favorites.  I asked them to look at the cover and tell me what they thought the book was about.

Since Born Wicked is out in paperback this week, we talked about the new cover:

Daughter:  This is about a princess and she’s holding a bird because her wants to go home with her mom and dad and get married.

Son:  She’s in a world and she’s holding a crow and she wants to take care of the birds, but it’s too late and she has to go to the ball.

Daughter’s drawing:
Untitled
(it looks like Cate is the bearded lady, now)

Son’s Drawing:
Untitled
Son decided to turn the crow into a (very large) Peregrine Falcon flying above Cate.

Would you like to join in?  All you need is a kid (your own or a nice/nephew/cousin/friend) a book and some paper and crayons!  More details here.

  1. Cute! I love how holding a bird means she wants to go home and get married. haha You know, I’m really not a fan of this new cover though. Its not horrible, but the original one was much better 🙂

  2. Those are adorable drawings! You must have quite a pile of your angel’s art in your home. My son grew up drawing and I can never find the heart to throw any one of his creations.
