Judging a Book by Its Cover (3)

This is a feature that was started by Sara at Forever 17 Books after she read  this babble article.  I decided to join in because I love getting the innocent and oh so insightful opinion of kids.  My 4 year old son and 3 year old daughter took a look at the cover of one of my favorites.  I asked them to look at the cover and tell me what they thought the book was about.

Daughter (age 3): This is about a ballerina and she can’t walk on the red.  There’s a bad witch and she made the hot lava.

Son (age 4):  This is about a ballerina in a hot lava tube and she can’t walk through it.  She was in the woods and now she can’t get past the hot lava.  When she took a step, she fell in the hot lava.

(I thought it was interesting that both kids thought that Anna was a ballerina.  I guess it’s the dress!)

Would you like to join in?  All you need is a kid (your own or a nice/nephew/cousin/friend) a book and some paper and crayons!  More details here.

  1. That is interesting that both thought Anna was a ballerina. I might have to get my copy out just to see what Katie thinks about it. Wouldn’t it be REALLY weird if she said ballerina, too? 😛 Great drawings!!!

  2. I have be taught a very few good things in this article. Absolutely worth bookmarking pertaining to revisiting. I wonder the amount attempt you set to develop this kind of amazing informative web page.
