Hands down. Something Real by Heather Demetrios! This one completely flew under my radar until I saw a whole bunch of people raving about it. So happy I picked it up!
I actually only read one book by a debut author this year, and it’s a Brazilian author, the book is called “A Menina Que Ouvia Demais” by Mauricio Kanno.
I haven’t read that many debuts this year, but Snow LIke Ashes really stood out for me

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch was my favorite debut this year
Honestly I don’t think I read a debut book this year. 🙁
I enjoyed quite a few. Most were adult books: Cecy Robson’s Weird Girls series, Mary Behre’s Tidewater series, Anna Richland’s Immortal Vikings, and so many more. Kristen Callihan’s debut with NA-CR with her sports romance
As to YA, I was taken with Juliana Stone’s debut with Boys Like You

Did I have a favorite debut this year…? I honestly don’t know if I read a debut book I liked or if I read a debut at all. If I did and I don’t remember, it probably wasn’t my favorite. Actually scratch that. I LOVED Effortless With You by LIzzy Charles and Porcelain Keys by Sarah Beard. They’re both books under the radar, but I’m still glad I found them and read them 🙂
