Unravel Me |
Unravel Me was a much more satisfying book, in many ways. Whereas we got to know Juliette and her unstable mind in book one, I felt that I got a more three dimensional view of the Shatter Me world in this installment. There is a lot of work going on in the underground facility, Omega Point, where Juliette and Adam now live, but that doesn’t necessarily make things any clearer than they were before. Being amongst people who also have gifts gives Juliette more emotional independence, which changes the way she thinks about herself and others. Adam and Juliette go through a lot of hard situations in this story and there were times when I really felt for both of them. Surrounding their drama were some great supporting characters, including Kenji, who is as hilarious as ever. I think the most gripping part of this story for me was Warner’s dad. You know he’s evil, of course, but being faced with that evil was extremely dramatic. That guy puts the psy in psycho, that’s for sure.
Unravel Me could also be called “The Book That Made Everyone Question Their Loyalties”. (By everyone, I mean the readers. By readers, I mean the people that thought Warner was simply the hot/crazy guy.) As you have probably seen from all of the flailing about on in the internet, it turns out that our Warner has depths that were previously hidden by the piles of crazy that that dad heaped upon him. Whether you are Team Adam or Team Warner, there is no doubt that you will have a lot to deal with in this book. There is one very big revelation about Warner in this book that actually made my jaw drop. Juliette is still trying to hang on to her sanity and sense of humanity while trying to figure out what her place is in this organization. One thing is for certain; you will be on the edge of your seat the entire time, so be prepared!
(Oh, and don’t forget to bookmark Chapter 62. That little speech might go down in history right next to Mr. Darcy’s. It’s that good.)

Wonderful review! I’m so glad you liked this as much as me. 🙂
I also love that we get to see more of the world outside of Juliette’s head, and her relationship with Adam.
And OH MY GOD Chapter 62. *dies* Love it!!!
I would definitely agree that Unravel Me was more satisfying than Shatter Me. I think the writing was stronger, as was the character and plot development. I liked seeing more of the world outside of Juliette and the goings on Omega Point. I definitely switched teams during this book, to Kenji lol. I know he has no actual chance with Juliette, but I loved getting to know more of him in this book.
Totally agree that it’s more satisfying. ALSO UM IT DID NOT MAKE ME QUESTION MY LOYALTIES because I am a sick, sick person I was Team Warner from day one. YEP. Excited/nervous for the end. Warner. 🙁
Everyone is speaking about this chapter 62! I must read Unravel me this month, I can’t not. I loved Shatter Me and can’t wait to get more of Warner! (Yes, I am one of the people that switched loyalties in Destroy Me)
great review!

Your review has made me even more excited for this book! I definitely have to read it soon. I have to know what’s going on with Warner!
Huh, I am so curious as to what this revelation about Warner could be! And I haven’t even read Shatter Me yet! I better get on that because it’s turning into a great series from what I hear. Glad you really enjoyed this one!
“The Book That Made Everyone Question Their Loyalties” <--- This is why I am so scared to read it! lol I love Adam and I don't want to be conflicted. *pouts*
I love the sound of this series, and it is always good when a writer can set up such suspense and question what we know.
Happy reading,

This book made me cry. My feelings were all over the place. It was quite a read.
Ugh this book. I can’t get chapter 62 out of my mind, and have probably read it at least 20 times. It was EPIC. I can’t WAIT to find out how this one ends. Thanks for the awesome review. I had avoided reviews until I was done, and I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling so unsure about who’s team I’m on.
Unravel Me certainly just proves to me that Tahereh is good at writing. Because seriously, she just has me MORE intrigued by how this series will go on! It was a little hard for me to like Juliette, but I am proud of where she is at the end of it!
