When awkward Annie has the worst day of her life, having to deal with her parents fighting over her dad’s inventions is the last straw. It;s the invention that has her landing in an alternative universe that seems to be the life she could have had if her mom hadn’t ended up with her dad. Annie tries to navigate life in a body that is more attractive in a life that’s moves much faster than the one she was used to. It made me really respect Annie when she decided not to keep behaving like Ayla and stay true to who she was on the inside.
I loved the Freaky Friday aspect of this book. There is no better way to appreciate your life than to be thrown into someone else’s, literally or figuratively. What was wonderful about this story, was that Annie was given every kind of privilege and the physical appearance she always wished she had, and yet, she still isn’t sure if it’s really what she wants. The sci-fi aspect of the book was really fun to read, as well. When the boy she likes has the knowledge to help her, things get very complicated. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much was packed into a relatively short book and how it went from funny, to thoughtful, to exciting in one story. This book is fun and definitely belongs on any summer reading list for YA.
I received this book as a galley from the publisher in exchange fro my honest review.

Freaky Friday! If it’s anything like the movie then I’m sure this book will be great. Great review!
I hadn’t given this book a lot of thought before but you make it sound like such a fun, light read. I may have to give this one a go.
Practically all this discussion on Siri amazes me. How can anybody rightly refer to a fairly uncomplicated voice recognition software program as artificial intelligence?
